I notice that nappies are VAT exempt whilst ladies consumables attract the new 20% VAT (GST) tax rate. A cunning money saving idea is for ladies to wear nappies instead of their favourite absorbent item....better still, a ball of discarded sheep wool seems just the ticket. I'm a genius I tell ye.

Elsewhere, I spent 90 minutes circling a closed Birmingham Airport this morning. Eventually the cabin steward informed us that "the captain will attempt a landing"....so re-assuring.
