Being back in Ohio means being back with family, but it also means being far, too far away from other loved ones, ones I miss almost constantly. It means being away from the part of the country I belong in and away from the person I belong with.

While I try to readjust, try to again get used to this quiet, this tension, this hope and fear, I write postcards to feel them close and to remind them how I love them.
