Is it a common experience that the second day back at worse is much worse than the first? I almost wept when the alarm went off this morning and was relieved to find that it wasn't just me when weary colleagues dragged themselves into the office complaining about the darkness and the cold and how difficult is was to get up.
It's still very dark for photos too but there's still some nice things to be found. I'd noticed before Christmas that this view of the galleries at the foot of the Mound looks nice in the dark but it was immediately ruined by the market stalls built to fleece the visitors to our winter "festivals".
Had a nice wander a lunchtime searching for whisky - a 21 year old Aberfeldy to be drunk as part of a few gentlemen's whisky education. Couldn't find it. Found a 20 year old that's £60 cheaper. Can it really make such a difference to a whisky. I may buy the 21 year old anyway and find out.
