Into the light
Clair and I are installed in the Pestana Casino hotel in Madeira for a few days. It is the most amazing building, designed by Brazilian Oscar Niemeyer in the 1970s. It is the nearest building to a James Bond set I have ever seen. The building is a giant curve, the communal spaces are immense, the ceilings sculpted curves with concealed lighting, the staircases spirals.
Were no spring chickens but I think we're among the youngest visitors on the island. At the moment it is very quiet, apparently there are many fewer Saga tours than usual.
Anyhow there are enough fab curves here for my blips, here's number one...
