Wallace Monument

Guess where I was today.

A nice view of the Wallace monument from my lunchtime vantage point. I rarely get an opportunity to stop anywhere with a view like this.

It holds a special significance for me as my good lady and I were both born under the shadow of the monument, a long time ago.

If you have never visited the monument itself, I urge you to do so as it is a very impressive structure and you do end up marvelling at how they managed to build it, especially some of the upper stonework.

I don't think many of today's contractors would manage this.
