Have Fun Today

Balboa Park

Took a nice walk around the park today, and even took time to sit and read for a while at a table next to the House of Finland. It's very relaxing and quiet on a Wednesday morning; quite different from Sunday afternoons, when all the houses are open and the Spreckels outdoor organ is playing.

This park is full of photo opportunities. I took many, as usual, and most of them look pretty good. That's how these photo-a-day projects go: one day with several great photos, then several days of not so great photos. I've posted the others from today on flickr.

I was at the park because my auto repair place told me they were too busy and that I should call them back in an hour or two. Sure enough, I called them in an hour and they said to come right over. In a way, I was a bit disappointed that I wouldn't be able to sit and read a little longer. I should have waited two hours before I called them!

In Hillcrest, at the car repair place, I waited for them to change the oil and a couple of fan belts. While waiting, I went to lunch at the Mediterranean Cafe, a nice little restaurant at the corner of Washington and 1st, just a block or two north of the shop. I love Greek food and got the veggie platter: a good choice full of hummus, pita, falafel, and other tasty things.

Later, Scott and I took a walk around the block with Bailey. It's only a mile, but has two very good hills, so it seems longer. I missed walking anywhere yesterday, so this keeps the average at one walk per day for 2011.
