Bitter cold wind
How quickly the weather turned. Just ten minutes earlier I'd set off from home in sunshine and blue skies. The downs running along the northern side of the Vale of Pewsey were beautifully modelled by the low early morning sun.
The sky was already turning grey as I pulled on my boots and headed for Knap Hill. What this photo doesn't show is the strength of the wind - howling straight into my face - and although the thermometer read 4ºC, it was bitter cold. Maybe that dark, ragged cloud gives you a clue.
The reward was this photo and a hot chocolate back home before the rain arrived.
