Home on the Range

From time to time I see cattle in this area. There is a gate, a water trough, and sometimes salt blocks. Next time I go past the cattle are gone. I suppose that the rancher drops them off at this gate and then they spread out over several hundred acres to graze and to breed. Sometimes the cattle that I see here include cows and calves. Then I think that they are rounded up in the Spring and in the Fall for sale.

Someday I must talk with one of the cowboys and find out if this is true.
