The Voortrekker Monument

Took a trip to Pretoria today, very cloudy and lots of rain.
This monument is a massive granite structure, built to honour the Voortrkkers who left the Cape Colony between 1835-1854. It was designed by the architect Gerard Moerdijk and is 40 m high with a base of 40m X 40m.
