2011 from the armchair

Saw the New Year in very quietly with Irene, Irma and Brenda.
We looked out of the window but couldn't see any fireworks, so had to settle for the ones on TV.
It occurred to me afterwards that this is the first place I've lived in the last 35 years from which I couldn't see the Edinburgh castle fireworks.(The best view being from the house in Fife!)
We broke with tradition and didn't watch 'Only an excuse' - instead I made the girls sit through the DVD I'd been given at Christmas - 'Miracle in Milan' - Definitely one of the oddest films I've seen.
