Gingerbread Village
Today we took Scout to the dog park for some playtime. It was really muddy due to the rain...but he still had fun. He found another 9 month old to play with. This pup was a lot faster than our pup, so he out-ran Scout for his own ball. Basically Scout ran back and forth for the ball and then after the other puppy. We had to towel him down before getting in the van to head home.
Gary took Liam and Landon to the grocery store for Christmas Eve food, while Loren stayed home and started assembling the gingerbread houses. This year, instead of one big house, we bought the village kit that had several smaller houses. That way, each person had their own to decorate. We found the trick several years back to first assemble the houses and let them harden for a day before trying to decorate. We learned the hard way the first year, when it tumbled down while decorating. Loren did well in the assembly...but I know I will be making extra royal icing for the decorating...as the package is not near enough for everyone. THIS BLIP PHOTO IS OF LOREN ASSEMBLING THE HOUSES. I MESSED AROUND WITH THE BACKGROUND, PRACTICING GETTING RID OF AN EXISTING BACKGROUND AND ADDING MY OWN. BUT I'M NOT SO GREAT AT IT YET! WE HAVE HIDEOUS WALLPAPER IN THE BACKGROUND SINCE WE HAVEN'T HAD THE FUNDS TO REMODEL THE KITCHEN....SO I ENJOYED RIDDING THE PIC OF THAT WALLPAPER!
Oh, and Liam had fun at gymnastics tonight. It was his last one for a couple of weeks. It was just him tonight...so he got one-on-one attention from his coach.
