Back to Normal - 3 out of 5 succeed

The writing's on the wall (albeit on a calendar). Back to work, school and kindergarten we must go, the holidays are over. We've had a great time and it's kind of sad it's over. We have eaten well, sat by fires, enjoyed being with family and have by and large all got on well.

Beau awoke in the night feeling warm and with a headache, I got somewhere close to five hours sleep. No school for him, no work for me and in a funny kind of a way we got a sneaky extra day of holiday. We snuggled and slept and pottered and tried not to feel that we were missing out on being back to normal.

Not a lot to photograph today as a result.

I found myself staring at our empty calendar and remembering that the 'January' photo was taken about this time last year when we had a stop - start kind of a start to the year. No sooner had we gone back to school and it was closed due to the 'big freeze'. Adam and Beau ice skated on the frozen canal, it was quite a moment in history.

Stop - starts are not that bad really.
