Polar opposites

I snapped this photo at Blick, an art materials store. Yes, it is made of real sand. I love how the busy city nightlife in the background contrasts the calm sunny setting in the foreground.

I spent the evening downtown with an old friend, whom I had not seen in ages, and her husband. They were in town (from Michigan) and today they were being touristy and visited the Sears Tower. I met them afterwards and we did some shopping on State Steet and the Belmont/Clark area.

It was truly wonderful to see Jessica again and to finally meet her husband Josh. I was once again reminded of why she was my best friend in high school, and I could instantly see why she married Josh.

Oh, and she's three months pregnant!
