when a goldfinch wants to eat, there's nothing in the world, including a blizzard, that will stop him/her... they've not been around so much since the snow started, but descend every couple of days to stock up - very pretty they are too.

extra half shift at work tonight, due to early deadlines meaning everyone was in early and then colonel gaddafi inconsiderately making a provocative speech that entailed ripping up a couple of inside pages and two hours extra work for the person who lives closest to the office (guess) and the late backbencher. don't mind staying for proper news tho (and i'm getting paid extra).
