Environmentally-friendly plates.

Here the table is being set at a Parsi (Indian-Zoroastrian) wedding. Guests eat from banana leaf plates which are then folded up and I understand usually sold 'as seen' with whatever left over food they contain by the caterers to people on the street. Ever since my husband told me this I've always made sure to leave food on the leaf.

We were in Mumbai for a friend's wedding, and it turned out to be a bit of a reunion with old colleagues jetting in from Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, the UK and Manila. It was a good night, the bride and groom seemed to be having fun (despite having 1200 guests to entertain!) and the food which included traditional cuisine and prawn curry was delicious.
