sloely does it

in northumberland for a few days - just the right time for a sloe gathering trip with dad this afternoon; an abundance this year compared with the meagre pickings of the last couple of years. unfortunately to get the gin there is the penance of having to prick every single berry several times (to let the juice out), which is less than thrilling. worth it tho - by xmas it'll be nicely drinkable and in a year's time it'll be truly glorious. so far there is a demijohn and a sweetie jar, but tho there are sloes enough for another dj, we've run out of gin, back to sainsbury to stock up - they'll wonder what my mother is up to!
