Along Came the Rain

After a week or so of skiing and tobogganing on beautiful snow, the temperature shot up today and the rain came down. Pretty sad.

This is the view of our swamp through the rain-spattered kitchen window.

We made coq au vin a la Julia Child today (i.e. stayed mostly indoors apart from a trip to St. Croix Falls to buy pearl onions) and had friends over for dinner. This cheered me up enormously as I was feeling rather depressed about leaving tomorrow.
