Even bus drivers get a day off

Yes, New Years Day. May the year be a happy one. Traditionally the first day of the New Year is a public holiday. That means everyone is entitled to a day off. However that is never entirely true. There are always people who have to work.

Imagine my surprise when the local store that was always closed at this time was today actually open. It is now designated a 'Convenience Store'. And so it was open.

The Police also have to have some on-duty officers. There are those that look after other people; the old and infirm. There are nurses and doctors working. Now I have mentioned but a few. I am sure you know of many more people that work in order that we may not.

I say 'thank you' to all these people.
