Up Close and Beautiful
The temperature dropped enough that a thin film of ice covered come of our pond. Love the crunch of the frozen leaves underfoot. So many possible frosty images today.
Been listening to the seemingly endless versions of In the Bleak Midwinter. Love the one Sarah McLaughlin does best. It is haunting and perfectly evocative of long winter nights. Today however, at the cusp of the New Year, I feel like something more optimistic. Like this picture. Picked this image showing sunlight and ice crystal patterns with the pond surface as the medium to usher in the New Year. It holds possibilities, a new lightness, a reminder of the beauty all around us, the profound in the simple and the transience of each day.
I also took some time yesterday and today to I look at some of the many images I took last year and pick the highlights to print and put on my fridge. What a remarkable year it has been, filled with friends, family and adventure. Living large!! Time to think about what this year will bring. Happy New Year to all!
