Reflection...
"I always knew looking back on my tears would bring me laughter, but I never knew looking back on my laughter would make me cry." - Cat Stevens
I've been looking back at 2010 and thinking of my favourite moments...
12 best bits of 2010
It's been a year as ever of highs and lows (though I think the highs might just have it). I end the year with better friends, stronger relationships and a tad more hope. But with a year that included a near death experience on beach, six months of very little sleep and madness in the workplace, what highlights were there in 2010 (in no particular order!)....
Filey
I started and ended the year in Filey and it was as ever wonderful hanging out with friends by the sea (I love the sea!)
Awakening Hemel
My fourth Awakening was a fantastic event, more people than ever before, lots of fun front of house, and as ever shared memories with a fantastic group.
Fileyfest(s)
Yeah I got ill on one of this year's fileyfests, but they were fantastic events and I enjoyed hanging out with a brilliant group of people
Blipfoto/new camera
I enjoyed getting a new camera this year and have loved experimenting with it and posting the results of blipfoto (perhaps the friendliest community out there!)
Castle Howard
Probably my favourite single day of the year, the castle and surroundings were gorgeous, the company was fab and I got some wonderful snaps
Beverleyhem
The movie which I spent much of the year writing/producing/editing/promoting, amazing to see it on the big screen, but the greatest privallege was working alongside sixty fantastic youngsters and an awesome team of adults.
Henry's Baptism
The water at Hornsea, even in the summer, is not that warm, but it made for a great spot for a baptism, and was a very special day.
Feeder
I saw Feeder twice this year, but last January was particularly ace as only 200 fans packed the Monto Water Rats for a loud, rocking gig. Unforgettable.
Exmouth
After five years or so I got to see Abi, Sophie and Molly again, as well as catch up with some other friendly faces - mint :)
Beautiful Peg
I spent a bit of my summer trying to spread joy with pegs saying "You are beautiful" on them. It was a lot of fun and I met some really interesting people.
Message Placement
An inspiring week with the Message in Manchester, changed the way I think about how I work and filled me with creativity and ideas for the future.
Christmas party weekend
Sometimes a weekend is just 'lovely' An evening in Filey with friends, followed by preparation for a wonderful Christmas Meal and then two Christmas Carol Services. I felt so christmassy after this I was sneezing tinsel...
So that was 2010, I hope you've had a good year and that 2011 will bring the best for and from you :)
