The happy option
Naturally, we had to take our guests to sample the best frites around, so off to Maison Antoine we went. I'll wager these were the best frites my sister's family have ever had. No French fries they will eat back home will even come close to these Belgian ones.
The sauces in the picture are mayonnaise, which is what most Belgians have with frites, and andalouse, a Maison Antoine favourite made of mayonnaise, garlic and roasted red peppers.
