Snow Bunny

The last time we spoke - i had taken a picture of my snowboard - all excited to hit the mountain and show those kids how we did it back in the 90's....
Well we woke up Wednesday - packed up the car and made our way up. About Welches we started to notice the lack of visibility that had suddenly came upon us. Im not a meteorologist by any means (my wife thinks she is though - she says that she was born with a doppler 8000 internally) but i think the visibility was about 1 foot. It was cloudy, snowing sideways and the wind was hollowing. A complete white out. I called it a "White Squall" - normally a term used for sailing but i felt it translated for this purpose.
Soon as we hit government camp i realized that i had been leading a pack of about 50 cars up the hill. Not because i was going slow and they couldnt pass or anything but because they all knew what i was dealing with - complete white out. We pulled off at the rest area in GC and quickly made the call that we would abort the summit and try again another day. It would have been hideous up there and zero fun. So we came down and did a 6mile hike up in Forest Park.
Today we tried it again - same time and same routine but the car was already packed. Starbucks for a coffee and some oatmeal - then hit the road.
Blue sky, fresh powder and no wind - literally a perfect day. We lucked out and had a blast - showed those hippies how to board. Yelling out as i passed them on the slopes - "take a lesson dirtbags - this is how we roll!" Not really - but that would have been fun too.
Here is my snow bunny wife with her braids and new jacket. The tallest and hottest chick on the mountain.

peace out bro
