Road to Nowhere!
Mrs F was working again today so another boys day was in store.
Grandma & Grandpa came for lunch and after they left, we went for a walk to Joe's favourite spot. A railway pedestrian crossing where he likes to watch the trains go by and wave to the drivers.
It's a lovely walk with views across Edinburgh taking in Arthur Seat, Edinburgh Castle, Corstorphine Hill and over to the Fife Hills (visible in the distance).
When we got to the top of the hill, the Cooncil (council) had recently erected two sign posts on either side of the road, advising the 20mph speed limit ended and increased to 30mph. The first thing that entered my head was - WHY?
Not only does this spoil the view from the top of the hill, but the road is at the most 300 meters long and goes nowhere. You can see the white fence at the bottom of the hill in this shot!
It's good to see that Edinburgh Cooncil have money to waste on needless sign posts! Perhaps they could have spent their money on more practical things like grit bins, paying additional contractors to empty the bins, repairing pot holes.... I could go on forever!!
Someone had attached a sign to one of the posts advising to contact the local cooncillor if there were any objections to the new posts, hope he's been busy!
Rant Over!
We had a lovely walk and seen a couple of trains which made the boys happy. Off to e-mail my local cooncillor now.
