My school threw their annual Christmas party and while 'through a lens' and 'ausmossie' decided to show you some of the very beautiful girls who were in attendance.... I decided to go a different direction...
I bring you Peter. The always well meaning handy man extraordinaire of Joy Children's Language School Harbin. He may not be able to fix everything.. but he sure will give a good attempt at convincing you that it's just like that in China and you shouldn't worry about it. He does this through grand gestures and shouting in very north-eastern slang mandarin. The shouting is not because he's angry.. only because he wants us to understand. He does this over the telephone as well. I personally never speak to him on the phone.. but i have witnessed him having a conversation/shouting match (a very common occurrence here in China) with many people over his cellular telephone. All this said he is a jolly fellow who will always sit and have a smoke with you on your couch while you're watching tv.. even if you don't enjoy smoking... :-)
