Is this a rare siting?
Watching the variety of birds coming into the garden throughout this hardy winter has been fascinating. We have had lots of different species visiting and this lovely wee bird came into the garden for the first time this morning.
Extremely tentative at first he sat high in the trees at the bottom of the garden, apparently watching the other birds to-ing and fro-ing around various feeders.
He eventually plucked up the courage to go onto a bush nearer to the house and quite happily worked his way through a few berries before preening his feathers. Couldn't believe my luck when I looked up the species as I think it is a Waxwing - if anyone can confirm this that would be great.
