Toots in Solitude

Bird of Prey

The Buzzard
I've been watching this buzzard for months at the road end,
and he's been watching me too
for every time my car comes gingerly to a halt at the side of his tree
and my hand reaches stealthily to my camera on the passenger seat,
he waits, pretending not to notice, but all the time planning his get-away route,
and trigger and wings simultaneously click into action.

Today Donald was driving and 'snap' I captured something of his bulk.

Today I also found a long-handled brush that's been missing since the start of the snow. It could hide no longer as the snow was slowly melting around it.
