Full Long Nights Moon

Today we had our first snow. Well, the kind that actually stuck to the ground. My daughter took a look at the snow and announced, "Mama! Today's the first day of winter!" I told her that, as a matter of fact, it was.

First snow, full moon, longest night, shortest day. It may indeed be the first day of winter, but at least the days get longer from here on out.
