Sally
An early start today so that we could drop Mandy at the gym and me and the kids could head into Dunfermline to finish the Christmas shopping before heading to Glasgow for a day with rellies - first the parents and then the brother and family. All was relaxingly uneventful although the drive through was nice since we had Mandy's new DAB radio to listen to, which meant Six Music all the way.
There's not usually much evidence my niece and nephew when we visit Gerry and June, although Jamie was there last time and Sally was around today, resting after a late night in preparation for heading off to Holland for some dance event tomorrow - something full of that loud boom-boom music that young people listen to. She didn't want her photo taken but stopped resisting after a while and relaxed into it, which is just as well. Blip was looking like a yodelling Austrian teddy bear until that point. Sally's much better looking - enough resemblance to my brother to see the genetic connection but not so much that you feel sorry for her.
After that we headed home, dropping Mandy at Asda for a 6-10 shift of bag-packing to raise cash for the Scouts. Poor soul. I treated the kids to a pizza picnic on the carpet before stories and bed. Now I'm going to read my Christmas present from Gerry and June - 101 whiskies to try before you die - and think about forming a like-minded club to try them all.
