A walk on the wild side
After the non-stop torrential rain of the last two days, today's drizzle and mist allowed us to venture out. Wall to wall DVDs yesterday meant fresh air was badly needed - we headed out to Glengarrif. After the snow, frost and ice the roads are now shot to pieces and massive potholes have appeared so driving remains hazardous. The carpark at the woods was packed but luckily there's masses of space and we strode forth into the Great meadow Walk - all of us blipping like mad!! The colours were extraordinary - russets from oak and beech leaves still to fall, silver of lichen and psychedelic mossy greens. This view looks across boggy scrub to lichen covered oaks.
The lads leave tomorrow, they both spending New Year's Eve in Bristol - yikes! Early start and back to the airport - great!
