A Moorland Funeral

Today's the day ...................... for an inside painting

Miserable day today, so Will decided to paint (watercolour as opposed to emulsion!) a picture that he has been thinking about for a while. During the summer when we went to see The Glasgow Boys Exhibition in Glasgow, he was inspired by a painting by Sir James Guthrie entitled The Highland Funeral.

Recently he was sent a photo of a funeral of a benefactor of the John Muir Trust. She had given the farm that she owned to the Trust on the condition that she could be buried there in the moorland that she had known all her life.
