Ink stand
This Ink pot is a decoration on the wall in York Place.
I pretty confident it dates back to when the offices were occupied by one of Edinburgh's many publishers back in the late 1800s but I have not been able to find anything on t'internet about it.
I spotted it from the top deck of a bus the other day and put it in the Blipbank, today I was passing and decided to Blip it.
Today was dismal, dreich, grey, and miserable. On the upside I am going out to a birthday meal this evening, and tomorrow is a late start at work. Nice all round.
Edit:
The building used to be occupied by Alexander Ritchie and Son (Printing & lithography).
