Giant Aloe at Sunset

Less better known as the Hesperaloe funifera.
Another of my beloved desert yard plants.
These are a lot safe than cactus.
They have no needles,
but the ends tend to get hard
and can give you a nasty puncher.
Still better than carrying around
a bunch of cactus spines
that are hard to get out.

I really like how they look,
with there loose curly white fibers.
It flowers, purple, in the spring.
The flowers rise on 8' stalks.
The plant grows to 6' tall and
can spread 8'-10' across.
An amazing and colorful desert plant.
