Christmas Day! Woo!

Had a grand Christmas. Got up at 6 to open our presents... a nice big pile, lots of nice presents, including some camera bits :)

Took this photo of Mathew's nephew Jay. There's something about the serious look, the glare, the set of his mouth, that reminds me of a certain somebody else!

The pic also strangely reminded me of the cover of U2's War album (no idea why) hence this treatment in homage. Clearly nothing like the album cover, but it's what got me thinking along these lines. There's an alternative, softer focus, version here but I like the fact that he looks hard as nails in this one.

After all the opening of presents was done, we drove south to my parents in Tranent, for Christmas dinner (none of this lunch lark). Mathew insisted on listening to the Queen's speech on the radio on the way down. It was blessedly short, and neither of us really saw the point afterwards.

We exchanged more presents, including some awesome hats from Nell & Wull, then spent the night @ my auntie & Uncle's.
