Shadow of the Moon
In the shadow of the moon
Her fingers hit the surface
Gazed upon the pitchblack sky
The countless stars
Twirling waves make ships go by
The cold wind hits her face
As the ocean drinks the salt
Of her tears
Her trembling heart, it never calms
This creature of two different realms
Thinking of a love she lost
Up the shore
Miles and miles, I hear her howl
Don't think it's the storm!
Telling me a fairy tale
Of misery
Feeling love so desperate
Walking on a thousand blades
Returned lonely, nothing left
But one friend:
Shadow of the moon?
Shadow of the moon?
Upon the first ray of light
She gave up the hopeless fight
Called back into the sea
Her soul was left
Somewhere just beyond the mist
Of the breaking morning
Lay the world that wasn't hers
Never hers
In the shadow of the moon
Dreams are slowly fading
While I stand on the faraway shore
And hear her song:
"Shadow of the Moon?"
