Boxing Day
A day of rest and relaxation is how I interpret the day after Christmas day but that wasn't to be.......shopping at Westfield shopping mall crammed full of people when another earthquake came. It was unnerving - people jumped, ran, screamed, glass shattered and cracks appeared in some walls. Peoples eyes had the look of fear, 4.9 is the biggest we have had in a while. Businesses shut down, power was out in the street and to get the car out of the parking lot required patience.
Daughter A headed to her car as she had work in a few hours, while hubby and I debated on staying or leaving. We left but checked on Daughter E who was working at another shopping mall. Both hubby and I felt more at home in this mall probably as it was one level and there were less people. Daughter E had a smile and assured us she was fine.
Its been very still today and overcast, warm but a little eerie - there have since been smaller aftershocks, a rose from my garden just to calm my nerves - its called Sheer Elegance.
Enjoy Boxing Day - the day after Christmas :)
