my own tropical paradise

On this Christmas day I present to you a 'paradise island', This is the gift given to me this morning by my delightful if not slightly unusual son - accompanied by a note that read "a place for Mummy to escape to when you need somewhere warm to go".

Definitely one for the 'thought that counts' box but one I will cherish forever (even if over time it only becomes a blip memory for various practical reasons). It is only a shame I wasn't given a bottle of shrinking potion as well - that lilo in the sea looks very tempting right now!

Other than that - Christmas day eh? Five excited children, two false starts (one at 2.36 and one at 5.45), a load of new things to play and puzzle over, one very large cooked bird, dinner for ten and finally, finally time to relax...
