For Blips Sake

Driving home for Christmas

Travelled from the Highlands to north east England today to my parents for Christmas.

I was a little worried given the reports from the media, friends and family that it might be tough going. I had no doubt we would get there but thought there could be a chance of some delay.

Firstly, there was as much traffic on the road as any other normal week day, probably even less.
Secondly, the roads were perfectly clear. Not a hint of snow on the roads until my parents street.

So in all honestly I'm not sure what the fuss is about (in this part of the country anyway). We even saw grass on the side of the road - grass? I haven't seen that in weeks!

Apologies for the rant. I suppose the main thing is we made it down safe and sound.

Time for sleep otherwise Santa will not be coming down our chimney tonight!
