Clearing the way.

The road where I live is not one of the ones that is gritted in Lyme, mind you none of us expected the snow to stay as usually it thaws within a day. Now though the snow and ice has compacted and the road is like an ice-rink. A couple of days ago I began chipping away at our path and then the neighbours. Yesterday there was another person join in and we both did a litle bit more. Today there were 5 of us out there and we have done a pathway all along the road and out from each house. There are a fair few elderly in the road and they have been nervous about getting out and about so at least now they are feeling a bit more confident. I am feeling very proud and good neighbourly and there was a great sense of achievment when we had finished. Even Jack and Erin were "helping" for a while although I'm glad the rest of us had more than plastic spatulas!!!
