GIANT mushrooms!

for sale at a butcher's shop in Crewkerne - £2 a pound, locally gathered, absolutely ENORMOUS! We didn't get any - regretted it after - but we were reeling from the shock of the cost of the turkey. Well, I was. Mum says that's how much proper turkeys cost. Good grief...

I split lots of logs this afternoon. Good fun, except hairy #1 brat had left all the awkward ones, so it took a while. Would have done some sawing except little brother and hairy brats had taken both saws up to the field to use in the path construction project. Not sure why.

Now sitting in front of gently crackling fire with a glass of wine, feeling at peace with the world.
