Santa Special

A ride on the South Tynedale railway's Santa Special train has become a bit of a Christmas tradition for us and despite a little more snow last night we headed up to Alston to do just that. We went for the first departure - and apart from two walkers who only bought a one way ticket, we had the whole train to ourselves. Santa was rather surprised to see only 2 children too! Such a shame that the snow & tricky roads spoiled the trade for this fantastic attraction which is run by volunteers. Next year, I urge you all to go.
