Last minute shopping

Well today has been an interesting day...

Started off with my car being frozen solid.. and there was in fact more ice on the inside of my windscreen than there was on the outside! for some reason my screen keeps getting lots of condensation and that just froze - so after scraping it off and having a rather snowy dashboard, I arrived 20 minutes late for work :(
There was also a rather strange looking icicle hanging off my car - would have taken a photo but it fell off before I had chance. The best way I could describe it was a bolt of lightning!

The ironic thing is that the whole of the UK is frozen solid and the ice in the ice rink starts to melt! genius!

When I got home my brother was coming to visit so I spent a while with a chisel making grooves in the ice on the road so that he could drive up the slope (it was like glass). While I was waiting, someone drove down... locked their wheels, kept their foot on the brake and slid towards my sisters car... thankfully they got some grip just in time and all was well...

We went out to do some last minute shopping and it would seem everybody else had had the same idea... lovely sunset so I took my camera and thats todays blip...
