Christmas party time!!

Today we had the christmas party at toddlers. Jack and Erin were so excited about getitng to wear their fancy dress outfits. Infact they are still wearing them 5 hours later!!! They had a lovely time with party food and christmas card making etc. Sadly we had been unable to get a Father Christmas but at the last minute my best friend Jayne offered to do it. She was a star and did so well, mind you although she was able to fool her own daughter and all the other children Erin was having none of it. After the initial it's father Christmas moment she suddenly said
"that's my Aunty Jayne",
I told her no it was Father christmas and Aunty Jayne had popped to the shop. When she went up for her gift she said
"thank you Father Christmas"
but gave Jayne such a look as if to say I know it's you. Afterwards she said quietly to me
"that was my Aunty Jayne wasn't it Mummy?".
So I said
"Yes darling it was, in the lead up to Christmas eve he is so busy that Father Christmas has special helpers that he dresses as him and gives them the presents that he has got for the children. So you see Aunty Jayne is even more special than you knew, but it is a secret and you are not to tell the other children".
She accepted this quite happily and went out and gave Jayne the biggest excited smile and put her finger to her lips "shhh".
I hope I have done the right thing but with a child as clued up as Erin I was stuck, she knew who it was and I think if I had pushed the yes it is route she may have trouble believing me at all. What a mine field when she is only 2 1/2!!!
