The crazy evening

I've been trying to find a certain something for my 3 year old. It's just one little die cast car he's asked Santa for this Christmas. I've been looking for a couple of months now, because I did spot it but couldn't buy it at the time. Now when I need it most, I can't find it anywhere!

So when my husband came home, I ran out for a bit between his work shifts to look some more. I was getting so much accomplished and even found exactly what he asked for in our local Bimart. But I didn't watch the time....

My husband called at 5:55 p.m. and said, "So how far have you gotten?" As in, where are you on the road close to our home, because I have to leave for work in 5 minutes.

I was 10 minutes away in a store like an idiot. I ran out, hopped in my van and zoomed home. I managed to get home in 8 minutes, but I'm sure my husband was late. I felt so bad.

Plus I was supposed to pick a pizza on the way home for dinner, and I obviously hadn't done so in my Mario Andretti race home. So I packed up the boys, and we headed into town to pick a pizza.

After getting the pizza, we drove around the streets near our home to look at all the beautiful lights. They were so amazed and kept finding new homes to go check out. There was one particular home that has their display linked to music. I think it was definitely the favorite, and we'll be going back there soon.

This image is one that struck me. It is a giant tree that someone managed to somehow decorate in their backyard down a small embankment. I have no idea how they managed to get the lights on it based on where it's growing. It reminded me a bit of one of my favorite blippers recent images. Though hers is far more incredible. I was minus a tripod, so my car door had to suit.
