The winter solstice
Dec 21 - I slept through the lunar eclipse I'm sorry to say but have enjoyed all the blips of it!
This afternoon we took the 3 older grandchildren to the Seattle Center for lots of free festive winter activities --they were wild - drove the model train, ate pizza, ran around the children's museum trying everything, watched a wonderful circus school show. But what they loved the best was playing by the fountain. it was a great show, the music, the water, the kids shrieking when a water jet caught them. Yes, Niklas, Oskar and Tatum were the only kids getting drenched. it wasn't that cold.... We had to put most of their clothes in the dryer before returning them to their parents.
And then himself and I got to have a quiet romantic dinner out to celebrate our 47th anniversary. Over mussels and prosecco, we laughed about how well we knew one another back then - we went to the upper peninsula of Michigan to ski on our honeymoon. Only I didn't know he really didn't ski,(hadn't known each other the winter before...) so I had to leave him near the bottom and ski by myself. Getting married was a very lucky thing though - it just keeps getting better. We are really blessed.
