I'll watch while you scratch

A fox visited the pontoons looking for roosting duck last night - pad marks showed he was thorough in his search but as there were no feathers this time Charlie had no feast. Then I went to the allotment - all looking very sad and drear but the squirrel was there up to no good and when I took a photo of him on a fence about 6 feet away he made a leap at me and I have two deep gouges in my cheek which took a lot of staunching. Ah me - no pretty photos of anything but profile this Christmas! These deer were very flighty and I was lucky to catch a better photo of them than the b-lessed squirrel!
