All I want...

...at this moment is for all my work colleagues that have been made redundant to land on their feet in happy places, and go from strength to strength. One colleague in particular has shown herself to a good friend time and time again, and I'm going to be lost without her sitting opposite me in the New Year. She's been my desk buddy for seven years - that's longer than I've EVER sat opposite anyone day by day who isn't family. We've got so used to each other's habits, and have coped with good days and bad days. We can look at each other and can tell at a glance that something's right or wrong. I can say that I've never, ever been irritated by her once - she's such a gem.

Christmas is an emotional time for all anyway, but even more so for me and my work colleagues as Friday approaches - it's the last day for so many. We had our 'last' Christmas lunch today and we had a lot of fun, despite the failure of one of team not singing - she gave fine renditions of show tunes last year, but not enough wine was drunk this year. One work colleague created this heart using the remnants of a goat's cheese starter and my camera was grabbed so it could be recorded for posterity.

In the afternoon we started packing up the office in preparation for the relocation mid January. There's such a lot to be done. I'm just a-rolling with it.
