The Heart of the House

I love heating with wood.

We have a Vermont Castings stove, the Encore model. It's the medium sized one. It keeps the back half of this drafty old farmhouse warm, with the oil furnace for backup.

If it's especially cold or you just came in from outside, you can stand right in front of the stove and feel the heat radiating. You can turn slowly, like a rotisserie chicken, and bathe in the glow.
