Comfortably Out of Place

On my way home from the market, I stopped in one of the six 7-11 stores I regularly pass. In the air-conditioned store, between the employee stocking cans of milk on the shelf and the refrigerated drinks, a street-dog was taking a rest. He was out of the way, and no one seemed to mind sharing a corner with him. But when he got up and wandered down the aisle of snacks, he looked much more out of place than the other customers.
