The last week of waiting
Having written the text to go with the Blips I posted yesterday, I went straight to my bed. Could you tell from the lack of anything remotely worthwhile to say that my brain was struggling? The past four weeks or so caught up with me after a day out in the hills. The combination of a warm house, tired legs, and a full belly put my body into hibernation mode!
Well, after a good 10 hours sleep last night, today feels much better! Hibernation may well be more appropriate given the recurrence of the snow. Although I can still get out in the car, I decided against trekking into the city for church in favour of joining more local friends to worship at East Calder Church of Scotland. That is no bad thing, as they are all wonderful people who I see all to infrequently. There is always a warm welcome, and today the special Christmas nativity put me just in the mood to make the house look ready for Christmas.
Now that it is dark, this Yankee candle is providing light as well as a wonderful cinamon fragrance.
Four days to the holidays. I hope the roads clear up, as I intend to drive to Cambridge to be with my parents and sister for the weekend... I'll keep an eye on the forecast to pick my moment to make the dash!
