Jealous? Or what?
One, regularly, hears comment referring to us up here as the frozen North.
We needed to go up to Carlisle today and there was a snow-free run up the M6 and you can see how "badly" Carlisle was affected.
The thing is ... When the weather-men say the "North West" will be affected, they don't really mean the Geographic N.W. They mean the North West as perceived by " them down there" i.e. the Midlands, Manchester and environs which we regard as, almost, the deep South.
